• The coolest baby ever : my nephew Wout

A little over a week ago our family got blessed in a big way : my sister gave birth to a healthy baby boy Wout! Wout is the first baby in our family so it was a pretty big deal :-)
My parents saw their dream of becoming a grandparent become real, my sister became a mom and I became a very proud uncle!

Having an uncle as a photographer I’m sure Wout will have a huuuuuuuge picture collection by the time he brings home his very first girlfriend (and I can’t wait to show her all those “embarrassing” baby pictures I’ll be collecting over the next few years :p)

I already posted some pictures of him on my Facebook page (taken with my Canon 5D II), but today I got the processed film back from the lab so now I can finally show you the analog shots I took of him on his first day on this earth :-) .

Imagine these hands holding a camera in a couple of years ;-)

The proudest and bestestest grandmother ever : my mother

My sister is going to kill me for posting this photo of her :p Hi Greet :-)

Love this intimate moment between mother & daughter

She just can’t keep her eyes of him (but can you blame her? :-) )

My parents, I don’t think I’ve ever seen them as happy & proud as the past couple of days!

Birth is a miracle, and I’m sure these photographs will go a long way in helping our family remembering these amazing & life changing moments!

Tech specs : All shots taken with the Canon EOS 1V & 35mm F1.4L. B&W photos are shot on Kodak TMAX3200 exposed at ISO1600, colour photos are shot on Kodak Portra 400VC exposed at ISO200

  • New website, new blog, new educational content

I’m sooooo stoked to finally show you all the reason why it’s been so quiet the past couple of months on my old blog (www.fotografie-vanimpe.be) : We’ve been building a brand new home for me and my photography and you’re looking at it right now!

I’ve had these plans for a long long time, but finishing them took a little longer than expected … You’d be surprised by the amount of work it takes to create a “new” brand from scratch, and even now that it’s “ready” to be unleashed upon the world it’s still a little stressy to see how everyone will react :-)

As always this website is a constant work in progress : I’ll be posting things on my blog regularly, I’ll be updating my portfolio and I’ll be posting weddings & shoots on my Facebook page (If you like my work, please visit THIS link & click the “like” button on top).

Aaaaaaaaand that’s not all!!! If you think this was it I still have an extra surprise for you! This is especially for all photographers out there that follow my work and my blog : “On the Road with Pieter Van Impe”. It’s a video series where I’ll be talking about a much neglected side of photography, namely the psychological side of photography. When trying to improve our photography skills, we all tend to focus on the technical side of things. How to light a portrait, what camera, iso, F-stop etc to use, … It’s time to shine some light on the human interaction part of our job! I’ll be posting new movies to my blog and you can find my YouTube channel HERE. I’ve already put the first 4 episodes online, feel free to check them out and let me know what you think! Check the intro video I recorded below :

I hope you all enjoy my new website, don’t forget to update your feedreader and I’ll be seeing you all here on my blog, on Twitter and on Facebook.

    greetz,

    Pieter
